UBUNTU FOR LIFE - HISTORY
The organization was established 20th September 2007 by the directors Pastor Monicah Wangui, Esther Muthoni Muthee, Samson Chege, Benson Kimari, Jacqueline Wambui and Jane Wanjiku.
The directors have always had a vision and direction from God to establish a home and therefore dedicated the parcel of land that currently hosts the home for this purpose. The directors first met the first boys to be admitted from the streets of Nakuru and Eldoret. The home started with 18 boys and is now hosting over 100 boys including the outreach program after the post-election violence that rocked the country 2007/2008. This number is bound to keep increasing.
The children are now in both primary and secondary schools. They are all provided for and catered for by the family business, Eminent Enterprises Limited and well-wishers. The home is running under our registered NGO Ubuntu For Life.
James Grant, late executive of UNICEF, is famously quoted for stating: “It is not that we have tried to solve the challenge of poverty and failed, it is that we have never tried at all.”
We appeal to donors and sponsors to join us at Ubuntu For Life in making a positive impact in our children’s lives. Amongst the poor, children suffer most of all.
